Its flexibility and history of providing customizations and enhancements for customers have made BroadView a leader in its field. BroadView's innovative, fully integrated approach also means substantial savings in staff time, which translates directly into ongoing operational benefits, month after month.

Red Soft Corporation is the supplier of database technology for BroadView Software Inc. since year 2007.

In addition to providing BroadView with cutting-edge database functionality based on Firebird, in-depth core engine support and consulting, Red Soft and BroadView Software jointly develop new data logistics and replication technologies.

Migrating a mature system with large number of deployments to a new major RDBMS version is not a small undertaking” - said Michael Atkin, President of BroadView Software. “With the assistance of Red Soft specialists the process of moving BroadView to Red Database 2.1 went smoothly and orderly. Any migration issues that would arise were resolved quickly and to the high support standard. Red Soft competence with tracking down issues based on logs and memory dumps alone, in situations when reproducible test cases cannot be created, was very much appreciated”.

Atkin noted that the use of Red Database 2.1 permits BroadView to enjoy unprecedented levels of scalability with SuperClassic architecture, especially on Windows x64 platform. The use of monitoring views introduced in Firebird 2.1, and SQL Trace functionality currently available only in Red Database 2.1 created a new degree of performance control at production locations, adding to BroadView product competitive advantage.

At the present the majority of BroadView Software clients use BroadView product with Red Database version 2.1 in production mode. As of August 2008 BroadView has completed deployment of Red Database to its largest clients - Entravision, Rogers, and 40 other broadcasters.

Existing production BroadView databases contain up to 20 Gb of actual data, and process millions of transactions daily.

Red Soft and BroadView Software are looking forward to further collaboration.

“Our cooperation with Broadview Software, it is not only good example of using open-source product on the international market” - said Sergei Doschenko, Director of Development - “it positions Russian developers as viable suppliers of high technology solutions".
