Red Database 2.0 is the first ever Russian enterprise open source DBMS. As soon as the final tests of Red Database 2.0 are completed, it will be available for enterprise application in the following releases: "Enterprise", "Standard", and "For Developer", as well as for free download from our web site in the "Open" release.
In March 2007, Red Soft Corporation established a laboratory in the city of Murom. The purpose of establishing OOO "Red Soft Murom" is to have regional resources. "Red Soft Murom" has co-operated with Murom Institute (branch) of Vladimir State University from the start. All lab specialists are trainers, post-graduate students, graduate students, or graduates of the chair of Information Systems.
Presently, the lab has three teams: DBMS development team, application solution development team, testing and documentation team.
- The DBMS development team prepares updates and patches for Red Database. The team is actively extending the DBMS up to security Class 1Г (Rus), re-designing the role model. Activities regarding design of new Super Classic architecture and integration of stored Java procedures into the Fire Bird kernel are commenced.
- The application solution development team is designing and implementing the Event and Knowledge Management System Red Control, as well as the system for data warehouse support Red Warehouse.
- The testing and documentation team checks developed products through automated functional and load tests, elaborates documentation, and prepares product versions for publishing.
