On July 14, 2007, the "IV Firebird Developers Day" (FDD) was held in Brazil, organized by Firebase. The event was organized as a workshop with participants able to share information, discuss future product development plans, establish new business and personal contacts.

Nikolay Samofatov, technical director, Red Soft Corporation, gave a talk on the subject: "Development and implementation of FireBird-based corporate software solutions".

Abstract:

• Development of Firebird-based solutions for enterprises for technical and non-technical problems;
• New main features of Red Database v. 2.0 - API profile (fbtrace) - Data replication and mirroring;
• Development of open source data warehouses based on the technological stack - Mondrian and Firebird (with ROLAP : access to data using MDX and XMLA);
• Development of new functionality of Red Database v. 2.1:
  • SuperClassic engine architecture;
  • security model overhaul;
  • Java and C/C++ Stored Procedures;
  • Stored Procedure debugger;
  • Full Text Search.

The Report was designed for software developers working with Firebird.

Summary: Today, IV FDD is the largest Firebird-related event in the world.
